The Yankees Bond with Sabathia

New York is definitely getting C.C. Sabathia, but the real story is that the Bombers want to issue more Stadium bonds (tax-deferred, of course) which allows them to spend even more this year on free agency. Not to be left out, the Mets want their share of more bonds too, applying for an additional $82 million to the Bombers’ $260 million.
