By virtue of a Rangers loss to the Angels, the Red Sox now have themselves a playoff spot this year, and I must say it sets up a very good possibility for another ALCS bout with the Yankees.

 

Watching the Wild Card race this year was something to behold as Texas really came out of nowhere and held the spot for quite some time before falling at the end.  While part of me wanted the Sox out, I don’t really think it would have been good for the Yanks to match up with the Rangers in the division.

The cartoon originally was to have the Cardinals back-in to the playoffs by virtue of a loss, and I had drawn it that way as you can see to the right.  

 

However, the Redbirds finally did clinch the NL Central, and I couldn’t use the cartoon, so I simply substituted the burly Boston driver.
